QUESTIONS & FEEDBACK
The Foundation is always trying to think of new ideas so that members and their families enjoy having a great day out on the golf course. It does become quite hard to think of new and exciting competitions and events to reward our members. Therefore please feel free to let us know if you have any ideas we can consider using for our tournaments quarterly magazine and website, also let us know what you like and dislike about any aspect of the Foundation.

Therefore, one way to get the events you want is to let us know, we can certainly pass on your thoughts to our Committee. So send us an email to gnjuniorgolf@gregnorman.com.au .

We do receive a lot of queries from members and their parents which is great, as the only way you know is to ask, but we have made it a little bit easier and hopefully more convenient for you as members by providing answers on our website.

1.  What age do you have to be to become a member and how do I go about it.

We take membership from about 5 years old until you turn 18 years old, it is $44.00 per year (January - December) plus entry fees for all tournaments. All you need to do is fill out a Membership form, you can get one from the website, complete it and send back to the office, you will become a member as soon as the office receives it, and we will then send out all your information.

2.   I have joined my child up to play in tournaments but what is they next step from here.

When you join as a member you will receive a Tournament Calendar which lists all available tournaments that juniors can play in. On the Tournament Calendar it has the date and the name of the golf club where the tournament is being held. Just call the number relevant to the tournament and ask for the entry form for that specific tournament, complete it and send it back to the address stipulated. Call about a week prior to the tournament for the tee off time allocated to you.

3.   What is the Junior Masters, I hear so much about.

The Foundation in December of each year run the Greg Norman Junior Masters Tournament, which is based on the US Masters, whereby it is a invitation only event. Members are invited to play in the tournament if they have qualified throughout the year. It is played over 4 days with a cut, similar to the professionals', after 3rd days play. This is one of the most prestigious events to win as a junior, and past members such as Karrie Webb, Adam Scott, Steven Bowditch and Katherine Hull have all won this as a junior. Joining our Greg Norman Golf Foundation members is also Interstate and Overseas competitors who are also playing in the Tournament not just as individuals but also as representatives for their Country, State or District, with two players being selected as the representative to compete in our team events, With country against country, State against State, and District against District.

4.   If the Junior Masters is an invitation only event how do I get invited?

The 'JM' next to some tournaments on the Tournament Calendar mean 'Junior Masters' which means if you have the best gross score for either the 13& Under, 15& Under and 17& Under age group at a tournament which states' JM Qualifier' you will receive an invitation to the Junior Masters tournament. Please note, however as this tournament is in Age Division's it is the age you are as at the tournaments first day of play rather than the age you qualified on.

5.   I received your Tournament Calendar but do not understand what a  'Closed' and 'Open' Qualifier means.

The 'Open' Qualifiers are open to all members of the Greg Norman Golf Foundation. Where as the 'Closed' Qualifiers are only open to those members of a golf club that belong to that district.

This is so all Districts are represented at the Greg Norman Junior Masters.

6.   I heard that the main idea for the Super Challenge Series is to accumulate points, is this right, and if so, how do I accumulate points?

That's correct the Super Challenge Series is a series of 7 tournaments whereby points are allocated to the players according to where they were placed in their handicap division. The Super Challenge Series is also a stroke play competition, therefore after the day is complete the staff at the Greg Norman Golf Foundation take the cards back to the office and work out which player accumulates which points:

Winner= 20 points
Second= 18 points
Third     = 16 points
 And so forth until all points are allocated

You must remember that only 5 out of the 7 rounds count at the end of the year. Therefore if you play 7 rounds you get to drop your worst two points round, if you play 6 you drop one and if you only play five you don't drop any. This event is open to all members so if you only want to play in one Super Challenge Tournament we will take your entry you must be aware that you can not be eligible to be the Super Challenge Series winner. There are daily prizes.
