Junior Masters

GREG NORMAN JUNIOR MASTERS
2010 Greg Norman Junior Masters
Qualifying Conditions

Open Qualifying Events (District/Club):
An Open qualifying is whereby any junior member of the Greg Norman Golf Foundation who is under 18 years of age as at 15/12/10, regardless of where they reside, are eligible to qualify for the Greg Norman Junior Masters by winning the Gross in his/her age division. Open qualifiers are pre-existing junior events.

District (Closed) Qualifying Events:
A junior must be a member of a Golf Club affiliated with Golf Queensland, in the District Association holding the qualifying event. There are 14 District Golf Associations throughout Queensland.
If a junior is a financial member of more than one club they can play in the Closed Qualifier from the relevant Districts they are affiliated with, but a member can only qualify once from any Junior Masters Qualifier whether Open or Closed.

Tournament Conditions for GNJM:
A junior must be a financial member of the Greg Norman Golf Foundation prior to the commencement of play in a qualifying round.

A junior will qualify for the Greg Norman Junior Masters by winning the best Gross score in their age division.  In the event of a tie, the GA Countback System must be used unless the tournament conditions stipulate ties are decided by a playoff.

Age Divisions - 17 years and under; 15 years and under and 13 years and under, Male and Female.
The age divisions are applied to the commencement date of the Greg Norman Junior Masters, 15th December 2008 (i.e. if you are 15 now, but turn 16 before 15th December 2010, you must compete in the 17 and under age division).  Once a junior has turned 18 years of age or is turning 18 years of age before the 15th December 2010, he/she is not eligible to qualify for the Greg Norman Junior Masters.

A junior may only qualify once. In the event where a qualified player returns the best gross score, the runner-up in that event will qualify.

In normal circumstances there must be a minimum of six players in each age division per qualifying event.  If this is not achievable the organiser of the event must consult the Greg Norman Golf Foundation.

Where a qualifying event does not have enough boys/girls in each age division, girls will compete in one event over all age divisions and two qualifying spots are played for, i.e. the two best gross scores.

The Tournament Committee may at its discretion issue a Special Invitation to any player who has performed well and is under 18 years of age as at 15/12/10 to participate in the Greg Norman Junior Masters. (Numbers permitting)

The Greg Norman Golf Foundation is not responsible for the running of Open and District qualifying events.  The Foundations role is to record the gross results and determine the age division qualifiers. Players must comply with the tournament conditions for each individual Open or District qualifying event. E.g. if the conditions state Caddies are not permitted, you must comply with this rule.

All clubs or District Golf Associations are asked to forward a list of all competitors gross scores to the Foundation office on 07-32160754 or e-mail gnjuniorgolf@gregnorman.com.au as soon as possible after the completion of the event.  Qualifiers are notified by mail from the Foundation.
